Who Has Passed or a Missing Poet
*******************************************************************************
"When quill releases ink and does not miss A poet’s peaceful abode surpasses bliss." from Connie Marcum Wong's "A Poet's Abode" Many of Connie’s wonderful poems resonate with me. I felt we were kindred spirits when I read “Tranquility.” Oh, the intense love we feel for grandkids, watching them grow! There’s so much we want for them—so much we want them to know. We pray that upon each, God’s unique peace He’ll bestow. The theme of peace and tranquility is also conveyed in her superb kyrielle “In Praise of God.” Connie displayed her love of Nature in “Wealth of Spring.” She also revered the ocean, as expressed in “Ocean Whispers.” Even as the end neared, she continued writing. To SO many~~she has been endeared! Connie, well known as the creator of the poetic form Constanza, was talented and inventive far beyond the norm. Constanzas by many poets have appeared in Writer’s Digest, shadowpoetry, and other publications. To me, the best are right here, on Poetry Soup. With all, I’m impressed. This form holds the poet to a set of specific guidelines. It is very popular (I love it), despite the confines: at least five tercets, eight syllables per line, and a rhyme scheme. First lines share end rhyme and convey the central theme, which other lines support. Structure and meaning are supreme.
