Tribute To a Polished Stone

It is so difficult to measure,
any metaphysical treasure.
One can only glean,
Its riches in stream,
By absorbing it at one’s leisure.

I’m speaking of poetry that hovers,
Levitating between it’s covers,
just waiting to be read,
nothing left to be said,
Literature for life and lovers.

Tribute to Elizabeth Wesley’s
 new book …
“Polished Stones”
Author House publications.

It has been a long, long time since I have read anything that
has arrested my attention long enough for me to stop and smell
the roses as has this book "Polished Stones" by Elizabeth Wesley.
 Thank you Elizabeth.

Strokes my ego Robert, it's not very big (my ego that is) but this sure feels good to read again! :)

What a wonderful tribute to Elizabeth's book, Rob! I need to get a copy of "polished Stones" or maybe you can bring yours on the boat. :) Love, Carolyn PS- it was "Excavating Faith" that I wanted you to read, but I'm glad you enjoyed the little couplet. The other one is right in step with all we've been discussing about the loss of morality in our nation. Love, Carolyn

Very nicely done...a couple of constructive suggestions/comments: "it's" should be "its", no apostrophe; and, for clarity and sense, I would suggest changing the line to read something like: "its riches, its cream"...this is certainly an excellent tribute and a strong recommendation for all to buy and read the book (I hope it is available!)

What a wonderful tribute Robert. Now I've gotta get the book so I can marvel in literary wonderment too. :)
