Tribute

Her tears trickle deep
Within her flooded soul
While the drops change red as her only console
She wants what she cannot have
And has all that she never wanted
While the shortest reach to peace
Exists only in her longest dreams
So as she presses her lashes against the pillow tight
She dreams for hours her sorrow out of sight
As her eyes flutter she is not alone
Only to wake and find herself in a new home
