Trees Should Blossom In the Height of Summer

in the depth of the heat
the flowers (in shameless
uncompromising color)
should scream love from
every corner of the world

I turned the air conditioner up too high, I think
to avoid the sticky residue that every molecule
of July has left on this skin (that sacrificed its
softness for a healing breeze

and in return
can no longer feel anything at all)

Hey there, my sweet Miss Tracy Decker! I have missed you. Now, this is awesome, as always, especially the last line...you are lucky, we have no AC here, and I can feel EVERYTHING. lol You are a gift, and you had better enter my new contest - my fellow D.H lover! XO Kristin

Yes you can. Go outside, take a breath and try again. I think you are right about the flowers, and the love will reach you. Just a thought. Always an interesting and amazing write from a favorite poetess. Love, Shar
