Tree of Whispers

I sit beneath the willow tree
pretending I can hear
it's hanging leaves of whispers
swaying gently past my ear
every tiny bit of gossip
every secret rendevous
all the cries and girly giggles
it must have been a witness to
each leaf an unturned page
in a never ending book
how I treasure this tree of whispers
sat here in it's cozy nook

Top marks to you, Debbie, for this lovely poem. The willow tree is ideal for these thoughts that you transmit with ease of expression. // paul
