Tree Gone

They took that tree away
from The Parade. So well
it stood, looked good. But now
the local council's said
another one will take
its place - a tiny thing.
So how long will it be
before it's risen to
the size of what was there
to meet its fate, and fall?
Was it too big, too tall?

Hi Andrew. Thanks for this. It made think, as many councils are forced to remove certain trees. Tis a sad loss. But some trees grow so big that their roots cause much damage. All the best. Tony.

Thanks, Tony. "The Parade" is "Y Rhodfa" in Welsh, BTW. Thought you'd like to know. But you're a UK guy, so maybe you know.

It’s such a shame when established trees are cut down. Old trees have a majestic charm and should stand stately and tall, that is unless they’re weak and damaged of course… Belle

it's sad for a tree to be cut down for no good reason. A nice thoughtful poem.
