Treasures of Spring

Come my darling the rose is in bloom,
Treasures of springtime bountifully strewn;
The air is so soft and crystal the streams,
And the sky rides high in sunlit beams.

Let us go down to the fresh dark shades,
Where feet find rest in cool green glades;
Where elfin sprites chant evening hymns,
And shadows dance with careless whims.

When you grow tired I'll find you a bed,
With silver green mosses to cushion your head;
And there is the place I will rest at your feet,
While I pledge my love too oft to repeat.

So happy I look and gently I'll sigh
That you might think of a kiss passing by;
And I'll reach out to draw you near me,
To hold you close for all eternity.

romantic and fresh with a touch of classic . Lovely poem. Well written and nice flow, my friend. I don't think there will ever bwe a time when poets will run out of things to say .... but then again when all is said and done.... all may be said and done!

In the meadows the trees sigh. And in the morning, you never want to die. The newborn essence of the silent glare. Tulips trumpets sound throughout the air. A love to share the new hope of life. A hand to hold to stave the strife. These golden dreams of yet to come. Cause the soul to gently hum.

I can see this being sung in an animated love story about the elfin sprites you write about Elizabeth. It's so delightful to read, I love it :)
