Treasure Found

I searched beyond the hills and found A treasure, gold and silver bars It’s amazing what is in the ground I’d spent years searching all around A bounty sealed in Mason jars I shouted out at what I’d found Alerted to the beeping sound Like the sparkling of the hiding stars It’s amazing what is in the ground I searched beyond and all around Resting, waiting, nothing mars I shouted out at what I’d found Yet many treasures still abound Waiting there like brand new stars It’s amazing what is in the ground Again I’ll hear that beeping sound When treasure waits below in jars I might employ my trusty hound While searching o’er the country ground

Living in a place built over a Roman settlement, I keep promising myself to buy a metal detector. Maybe I'll find that jar. Nice write, John. PS- can I borrow your dog? :) Viv

I read of a man over in Italy who waits for construction projects and gets permission to search their dirt piles when they dig ditches and holes. He finds many ancient coins and artifacts. That way you don't have to do much digging.
