Treasure

It could be as small trinket, keepsake on a chain
It could be a chest of gold coins, smooth shape and plain
It may be a love note or poem you wrote for me
It may be your kind words that light me up with glee

When I see a penny, I picked it up for luck
When I see a four leaf clover, give it a pluck
They say I have good fortune, luck is on my side
It is thoughts of you, that have me beaming with pride

I could have diamonds, I could have fancy gold rings
A moment with you, is my most treasured of things
Riches don't excite me, I'm just a simple girl
But when you crack me open you will find your pearl

Life is full of mysteries, life is full of pleasures
I spend each day with eyes open, finding my treasures

You have found treasure in writing with each other - friendship the most treasured possession we have - hang on to friends they are as precious as diamonds but invaluable in our lives. Hugs Jan xxx
