''Treading Water''

I am run down, beat, exhausted, there is nothing left.
Swallowed in deadened emotion.
Feeling as though the price of my sacrifice is to much to bare.
To keep safe what I cherish most.
Yet the test of time has shifted gears.
Love prevent evil.
I shall rapture his sins.
Stand strong in belief.
Strength will prevail our destiny.

                                 Divorced,aching struggle between ex-husband and ex-wife
has inspired this piece/child custody.

Oh, I'm so sad to hear you've been going through this, Kacey. I hope the child custody arrangements can be made so you both have time with your children. A powerful and moving poem, dear. Best wishes in John's contest! Love, Carolyn
