Traps

I love sleep But I don’t love dreams When my heavy eyes I close to doze, To dream not I pray For dreams are traps. I don’t love dreams Not at all Last night I dreamt Mother Hen I was Golden eggs I laid But I was trapped! To a foul smell I awoke Mum beat me for soiling the bed. The other day I was trapped too I dreamt I was in a race So fast I ran I wanted to be first But before I could win I fell from my bed Now my limb limps. Dear dreams Could I sleep peacefully? Your traps I hate Could you stay away? Just away from me Is it possible?
