Trapped In the Sahara Dessert

Trapped in the Sahara dessert Overlook at the horizon, Waves of the heat from the boiling sun, Dessert sand covering my feet, Sweat dripping down my back, Thanks to the north western breeze. The sand dunes stare at me, As the sun slowly goes to sleep. Darkness takes over, And the owls decide to show up. Freeing my imagination. I walk with difficulty, Towards an island thorn tree. I place my eyes up in the sky, Wishing I could see a shooting star, That could grant my wish, My wish of freedom. I suddenly see broken pieces of a mirror, And when I look at them I can see my broken face, I feel like a killer. My heart suddenly changes its pace, But no its just my mind playing its games. I walk slow, With much pain, My eyes still filled with hope, Of seeing my home again. I pray.....
