Transparent Gods

( upon hearing the expression: "I can see right through him". )

No one simply takes up space,
light bends merely stabbing the dew,
and I've never heard of a transparent race,
unless God's creating them- even new.

Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson- "transcendentalists". I got Emerson's book "Nature" (guggenheim.org) but it was boring.

The inspiration was a poem by H.D. Thoreau: "Men say they know many things but lo - they've 'Taken-wing'. The arts and sciences (a thousand appliances). The wind that blows is all anyone knows". [ See "Transcendentalism" ]
