Trading

Trading When you are easy to flatter you offer all on a silver platter When desperation is your emotion you will grasp at any false notion Trading your self-respect When you put yourself out there People will use you without care Your self-love you taint and cheapen You find yourself lost in a sea of turmoil Trading your self-love When you ignore the core of your soul for those fleeting moments you stole Blinded by such a false affection you will yet again suffer rejection Trading your soul Your actions create of you a view leaving your emotions in a torrid slew Then you try all for damage control Past your home they will scrawl Trading your reputation Trading your heart and soul for someone you’ll never hold Was the trade worth it? To another they will commit Trading your future By Cathrin Stuart
