Tracks In the Sand

A year goes by and I think of you
My love for you was always true.
I remember walking hand in hand
All that’s left are tracks in the sand.

A tear does come the day does linger
All I held dear slips through my fingers.
I always tried my best to understand
All that’s left are tracks in the sand.

The memories fade but are never gone
I doubt it will matter just how long.
My knees get weak and I can’t stand
All that’s left are tracks in the sand.

I remember back the way we were
What went wrong I’m not quite sure?
I try to move on I don’t know if I can
All that’s left are tracks in the sand.

I lay my head down I feel so tired
It feels as if my time has expired.
I go to reach out for your hand
All that’s left are tracks in the sand.
