Toxic State

My heart yearns to beat again, yet, it shall never be able to forget
How, that which it thought of as Love
Showed its true face!
Yes, I shall never be able to erase it from my mind
The angel face, the vile inner being, the arrogant ego
The painful words, my own pitiful state, the incessant trampling
Why, to fall in love again I have not yet been able to
Nor do I see myself as being, in the future, prone to
Rather, if I do live, if I have chosen to live
It is merely for the sake of my belief in my faith!
