TOUGH CHOICE: LOVE OR HOPE?

For I have to choose
A hopeful new beginning
Or love on the cruise
That I have to give in.

I have loved without hope
Left shattered, unable to cope.
A rose at a time I'm offered
Like petals of daffodils, I’m left withered.

I stand at a crossroads
Do I mend a heart
Shattered and battered by love
Or start afresh and lean on God above?

The beauty of hope is undeniable
But what’s hope if you don't feel loved?
When summer looms, daffodils wither
Yet roses thrive in both spring and winter.
