Touching Earth
Touching Earth
Lightning traveled from its
cloud home
in search of something more.
Something it could not know.
A thing beyond its own world.
It reached out, in search
of the earth,
indeed, it humbled itself
to the confines of gravity and dirt.
But it was unwelcome, feared.
Only then did it understand that
its existence was never
about touching earth.
It was about lighting up heaven
on the way down.
