Tossing My Tears

Tossing my tears My pen oozes feelings in patterns of ink Lines filled with visions, symmetrical truth Carved from a heart that is desperate to think Somewhere inside sleeps the essence of proof Reaching that point where the matters at play Running around in my mind’s subtle crest Hoping to find the right sentence to say This is my love for I gave you my best When is enough more than money can buy Simple the pleasures awaiting your touch Tiny endeavors on wings set to fly Sunlight and flowers and wishes and such Still comes another of phrases to win Sweeping you off to the end of my time Spinning in circles as yet to begin Lost and alone as he utters “you’re mine” Why is it always the soft tend to fall Deep in the crevice of fading desire Charcoal and ashes, the flame’s ending call Nothing I offer is what you require Now here I sit at this desk in the cold Staring beyond every dream I might see Endless the stacks that these memories hold Tossing my tears at what now can not be

A different side to Chris Green? What a great poet you are that you show such versatility in your words, and get the reader caught up in the frustrations and sorrow, surfacing certain memories of ones own past too. Bravo Chris, you have this reader captivated.... Maria 7++

Thank you Maria for enjoying this other side. Though I would like it to be, it is not always sunshine and flowers. I believe we all face sorrow every once in a while, I know I do. Thank you so much.

When we give all we have..yet when all we give is not enough ..we wonder what are we doing wrong. We have two options ,or quit or keep coming strong...Though sometimes..we have to remember to save some love for ourselves..so we will never feel cold nd alone when nobody cares...This has a very sad feeling.I do love sad poems as much as happy ones at times even more...Loved this.

beautifully written though very sad, chris. my favorites are the last 2 verses, although what impresses me most is how spot-on your rhythm and rhyme always are. it's a pleasure to read your poems...

Thank you Ilene. Coming from a poet I admire so much, your comment means a lot. Because that is what I always find in your work, grand story telling with a meter that is melodic and rhymes that are so tight they are virtually invisible. Thank you again my friend.

Powerfully poignant poetry, Chris. It's good to see the somber side of you from time to time, though I do love your upbeat romantic style. Such riveting rhymes this poem possesses. A 7 all day long. Love and peace.
