Tossin' and Turnin'

I was up all night
I tossed and turned
nothing seemed right
Worry, worry had me on edge
Yet I did not want to get out of bed
Should of taken tylenol to help me sleep
But thought I could sleep by counting sheep
Defeated and tired my eyes look a heck of a mess
I dragged my butt for a coffee this morning
It sagged from my tossin' and turnin'
Then out the door to the shop
Found a dark room in back
Pulled out a chair for a nap
Not comfortable for sure
Worry has me uptight
Will be over by tonight
Hopefully right.

Hi Phyl, Not enough room below. How are you? Hope all is well for you. Read your answer to Andrea below. Have you thought of making them Chrsitmas stockings like when they were kids only instead of toys things men like like shaving lotions, candy, jokes, reading material, perhaps movie tickets, etc. Bet it would give them a big lift. God \Bless, JB PS You must let me know about your surgery. Am praying for you

Hmmmmm Sounds you've been going through a bad stretch. Take it to the Lord in prayer my friend. He is the one who can help you. Remember, God never promised Christians an easy road. In fact He promised us a rough road filled with pit falls but He said He would be there to give us the strength to see it through. I have come to think of life as a training field for the Soldiers of The Lord. WE'RE ALL IN BOOT CAMP!!! God Bless, JB

our son had nose surgery last week and is starting to feel better. Our other son is waiting for surgery so I worry ----- should leave it in the Lord's hands.

poor thing. Are you still worried? Was it over the recent surgery in your family when you wrote this? I've had nights like this, Phyllis and they are NOT fun. Good one.

yes, it was the worry about the surgery but now that it is over I find Christmas has me wondering what to get for the boys. I am usually done by now but this year I am stumped on two gifts Both the boys are in their 30's and don't want gift certificates

I enjoyed reading your wonderful poetry this morning Phyllis. It has been awhile since I have been reading and commenting. So going to make it short this time with a promise to try and read more often after the holidays. Have a wonderful weekend and may it be full of love and joy. Hope you get some good sleep time in and get refreshed. Love, Carol

There must be quite a few of us who have trouble sleeping, Phyllis. Except for the coffee, this could have been one of my days as well. I tried the sheep counting once and it actually worked. I think you just need to get the other distractions our of your head and focus on a calm image -- maybe a waterfall or the ocean. If this is for Frank's story of an entire day contest, I think it's a winner. Thanks for your comments on the poem about my sister. This is why I don't see her. Love, CD

I think to much stress lately but a few night of good sleep will fix it. Things should hopefully settle in the next few weeks. Thanks
