Torrents of Burning Rain

White flashes of lightning announce wild
screeches to split the air
Wild fire of hope
smells like ozone after the rain
like warm sand after high tide
Like bacon on a sandwich,
land on my outstretched palm.
Rolling thunder wrecks waves
as house upon house upon tower,
overpowering heights of blue and green
marble like eyes when they speak fire,
like my hands catch deluges in May;
like wind grows fire and water at one.
Huge orgy of rumbled up nature
land at my useless feet.
With tornadoes rising it up , funnels sifting man and fish ,
throw me out as if my name is Jonah eaten away
by guilt, swallowing fire and spewing
water soaked cooked fast food
In torrents of burning rain;
showers of boiling
steam curtains,
to protect my
shivering
self.
