Torn-Again

A love so profound took a failing fall with every word he spoke
Lies so deep
Words with no promise
All I can see is lips
I hear nothing but my heart pounding with so much emotion
Beating so hard
Not a moment to realize that this pain has destroyed me
He speaks again and I can’t hear him
My conscious yells and I shut my eyes
Tears began to run and my heart became hard
The change I long for he cannot find
He won’t even try
Pain is unbearable, so physical
Astonishing
Where mind is strong, voice will follow
To the end selfishness is the only way out
He walks
I cry
For I am broken but free
Choice will give chance
War is over
And love shall stand again
