Torn Jeans

In this generation, we live among
standards have fallen so very far
our grandparents would be so shocked
if living now where all would be a star

Humility among the majority not be seen
most think themselves so much better
they're no. 1 at least within their own eyes
considering that they're no man's debtor

Now the fashion is in wearing jeans
not to be whole but always be torn
filled with holes the more the better
is this a world we want our kids be born

But this world has become fully foreign
to what scriptures call right and wrong
for to them right is wrong, wrong is right
O for the old days to truthfully belong

So hideous to see these torn jeans,
not at all smart just an awful sight
what are this generation trying to prove?
so anti-God showing them people of night!

Profound, insightful, and so true. I had a woman in my church group who wore torn jeans to church (and she was 64!) I think the way we dress says a lot about our faith too, Who we really honor in our hearts and in our life. Thanks for writing this, very relevant.

We think alike, Gordon, I recently wrote a similar poem titled "Tattered fashion inspiration"...they want to show off their bodies, that's sadly bad:(
