Torn

Torn between logic and the heart
Not knowing which is the best part
Being used or being bled
Or totally something else instead

People with certain personality quirks
Use people with whatever works
Working it for their benefit and plans
Not considering their fellowman

How can I know if you are using me
Will your eyes reveal your stand
As you thump your nose as I land
On the ground of reality

Guard your heart. When there are so many that lack humane decency, your intentional lack of caring will numb you to the pain that they try to inflict. Don't let them hurt you. But, don't be so guarded that you do not allow those worthy of your intimacy and affection, to enter into your heart.

It certainly is hard to tell with people sometimes, what are their true intentions, but when you get them weeded out you end up with genuine friendship. In re: to your comments on my poem, thank you. My Mom is very much alive and vibrant and painting and showing her artwork still. I hope to be half the woman she is. ~Trudy~

It is hard sometimes to know exactly where people stand..sometimes you just have to go with your gut and let the chips fall where they may..the poem is wonderfully done and reveals a heart that wants direction and clarity..well done.

It is difficult to know where we stand with some people, Sara. Guess we have to understand their "personality quirks" first. Much truth in this clever observation! Love, Carolyn

Nice piece, Sara. Hard to know if we're seeing people as they are. Instinct can go a long way, but also wisdom....are the actions matching the words? Blessings, Donna
