Torment
Anticipation runs like a river through my veins
Your lips, your touch...over my body they reign
Your kiss, your smell...intoxicate me
Wrapped in your arms is where I should be
Then my hand grasps at an empty sheet
For only in my dreams is where we meet
And I awake into the unwelcoming dark
Wanting you always leaves an unwanted mark
my aching heart might as well have stopped beating
because the happiness I fell is always fleeting
Wishing for what could be or might have been
But knowing I'll always be alone in the end
