Too Weak

May I be excused a moment or two
No one knows these feelings like do
The uninvited presence of guilt and shame
Beating on my back and screaming my name.

Standing tall on my knees
To see what my confidence sees
Nothing but a fake mask and taped lips
Afraid to face the truth as time slips.

Never be afraid I was once told
But I am afraid of loosing myself
In this ever-changing world
I keep on praying for help.

Don't be afraid to acknowledge hurt and everything that wears you down. It will help you to become more courageous. Shame is a silent killer. Please read my poem 'Honest'. I loved your poem by the way.

Keep on praying for the strength and you will have it. All you need is the strength to persevere. Great poem , well expressed :)
