Too Tired

I am so tired tonight 
My eyes are barely open 
I've nodded off in my chair 
Dropped my cup and now it's broken 

But... its only seven pm 
It's far too early to go to bed 
So I sit here half comatose 
And pretend to read instead 

I simply don't have the energy 
I'm feeling so uninspired 
I think my get up and go 
Has totally expired 

I am not an early bird
But nor am I a night owl
I am somewhere in the in-between 
A half awake and sleepy fowl 

I know I should help you with the dishes 
Even though I'm feeling shattered 
I'd love to help you but I can't... 
Cause I'm absolutely knackered
