Too Strong

Always taught to be strong
And has all along
but her feelings keep her hanging on.
She desires embrace from him solely,
his kisses only,
she never knew being strong would make her so lonely.
But yet she tries to say her goodbyes each time he leaves
she understands he's not her man because she won't let him be.
Too close for comfort everyone seems to get
and up until this point it hasn't affected her yet.
This guy seems to be something new
not like the others who have been untrue
so maybe one day she'll decide to speak
and find that being in love doesn't make her weak.
