“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” (spoken by Jesus) Mark 12:30-31 NIV TOO MANY TO COUNT Life most precious, but what about our souls? We see our lives played out in innocents. Too many to count - too many is one! One child wept over by many - too many tears, even one that falls to account. What to teach? What to learn? Why must the Holy Book be burned? Turn about…turn about. We are encircled by our neighbors. The hurts, the cries, the tears, the resounding wails. They come from the North, the South and all about. From Buffalo, from Uvalde — their innermost pierce, pervasive, catastrophic. Too many to count, too many is one. Too many to count, too many is one. 5/25/2022

Yes! I agree...really an interesting poem. Death of one in a family is tears of too many to count!

There has to be a way to come together and stop this, how many are willing to do it in D.C? Apparently not many. Well penned honesty.

It is incomprehensible. Beyond all understanding. Heartbreaking. Take care, Kim.

Kim, you are absolutely correct in saying that the killing of just one is still too much. The wicked were absolutely livid since he is aware that he has a limited amount of time. No parent ever wants to imagine the worst happening to his or her children. Praise be to God!

Hi Kim, Good scripture to accompany your poem. I rarely watch the news because it's so heartbreaking to watch—so much bloodshed being shed for selfish reasons. I applaud you for penning such a write-Alexis

Heartbreaking watching the news right now Kim and dread to think it could have been worse had the shooter not been taken out. RIP those little children and teachers who lost their lives. Tom

Thank you, Kim, for this poem. Yes, "too many to count, too many is one." We will see more, however, because our leaders refuse to do the right thing. Assault-style rifles must be banned in this country AND CONFISCATED! The Second Amendment has nothing to do with this kind of weapon. The founding fathers never intended this carnage of our children.

"too many is one" - I totally agree. "The hurts, the cries, the tears, the resounding wails. They come from the North, the South and all about. " This is why I cannot watch the news any more.
