Too Many Legs

Not counting bipedalism
four legs, one on each corner
seems about right.
Eight legs add up to arachnophobia.

Imagine a Rhinoceros
or God forbid, a crocodile
with eight running limbs.

Meanwhile, spiders
gallop across our souls,
or remain as still as stone
while we count to eight.
