Too Many Chances
[In the UK, the BBC is funded by an annual TV
licence. They offer the viewer plenty of ‘another
chance to see’, but definitely, absolutely definitely,
no repeats... that would never do!]
***
Just one more repeat on the BBC
Which they call another chance to see
Is that what we get for the licence fee
As well as some geezer questioning me
He said I’ll need confirmation from you
That you can produce your ‘licence to view’
I gave him my licence all tattered and torn
He said what is this, don't treat me with scorn
I said it’s my licence from twenty-o-three
Why don’t we call it... another chance to see?
