Too Long Gone

Too Long Gone

You've Been Gone a Long Time
But I See You Once in Awhile
When I See You with Him
You Always Wear a Smile

It Wasn't Very Long Ago
That Smile You Had for Me
I Love You and I Miss You
If You Looked I'm Sure You'd See

I've Cried a Million Tears
I Wish They'd Go Away
The Hurt Is Still Too New
I Still Have it Everyday

I Do Hope You Find
What You're Looking for
But If You Somehow Don't
Come to My Open Door

So Go and Chase Your Rainbows
But There Is No Pot of Gold
And I Hope That You Discover this
Before You Grow Too Old

Whoa! Very well done Connie! I really like the wisdom in this poem - the vanity of chasing after things we may already have. Brilliant!
