Too hard to think straight

Sat with my sad thoughts
Fearless as my body rots
I never knew you’d be here
I shed a tear without a fear

The devil’s not on my tongue
The angels are by my shadowy side
You’re singing the songs I sung
Once upon a time, my broken pride

You’re the only one I think about most
Who will I love most? I met you on the California coast
It’s too hard to think straight
Without you, I must move on as if I’m a wandering ghost
It’s too hard to think straight
It’s hard to think straight
Maybe it’s fate
We move on
Cuz you’re gone…

Cat on my lap as I think to myself
Cheerful and hopeful like yourself,
Yet I’m hopeless and joyless
I’m an emotional mess — yes

The devil’s not on my tongue
The angels are by my shadowy side
You’re singing the songs I sung
Once upon a time, my broken pride

You’re the only one I think about most
Who will I love most? I met you on the California coast
It’s too hard to think straight
Without you, I must move on as if I’m a wandering ghost
It’s too hard to think straight
It’s hard to think straight
Maybe it’s fate
We move on
Cuz you’re gone…

Set me free
Leave me be
That’s my only plea
Is to strengthen you
You’ve been so blue
I can’t think straight
Without you too
As of late, as of late
