Tonight I Have Touched the Earth

Tonight I have touched the earth. I have spent too much time in the clouds hoping to find scattered traces of you. Too many times I have missed you. Those days without compass spent wandering, lost, forever searching. What do lovers do that meet again? My lips tremble in silence. Such silence tells too much, my eyelids brushing against your cheeks. No matter what the course ~ raise the flag, for tonight I have touched the earth. The land of your velvet skin, the sanctuary of a promise land, a land of fires and our burning embers. Tonight I have touched the earth ~ forgotten the sky, that sea of dreams. I have left the stars of time and dimension to wrap my arms around you. To dance from the sky, caressing and sharing our sighs. It is here I would die now ~ in this foreign land, this land of love. For tonight, I have touched the earth.
