Tonight

If you were mine,
 I'd whisper words that only you would hear and
 I'd tell you that I love you.
 Like no other,
 I'd be your very own, but tonight;
 I'll just lie here and cry.

 I dont want to close my eyes or sleep,
 for fear I might forget you and
 wake to a different day without you.
 I dont want your memory to fade,
 so tonight; I'll just lie here and cry.

 I'm not too good on words,
 I can't always say what I want to say and
 I'm not always strong.
 I'll remember you each day and keep you close in my heart,
 with the hope that someday you'll be mine,
 but tonight; I'll just lie here and cry.
