Tonight

Tonight I’d lift the darkened sky
And spill the light from up above,
Although tomorrow I will wake
Without a morning star

Tonight I’d tell you everything
And paint these feelings perfectly,
Although tomorrow I won’t have
A single word to say

Tonight I’d make myself believe
That joy rests on my fingertips,
Although tomorrow I will sigh
With her enduring loss

Tonight I’d find forgotten love
In all the honest words you spoke,
Although tomorrow I will leave
The past behind my heart.
