Tomorrow's Joy
Candied berries gleam with frost upon a silver crown
Bright blue and red to crown her auburn head
Little feet of little folk fly through the forest frozen
Midst twinkling flakes and frosted twigs
Awaiting their merry queen
Hearing the hooves of a borrowed blue roan
They’ll crown her with their jewels
And weave a sapphire cloak
And carry her to her throne
For when she comes upon her steed their vigil will be broke
Her destiny was written old
For her a tale of woe; the girl was cursed with tragedy
And a tale forever told
Infamy is never cheap
Pride will quick turn sour
Had she listened
To the wizard
Her fate may
Have been
Spared
Now instead she's hastened to the silent wood
To become her queen
And all about
Small faces grin
for their freedom drawing nigh
They were last
To insight
A wizard's judgement keen, and fall prey to offered rule of frozen forest's gleam
Tiny voices sing a song
Silly girls still sing along, creating further mirth
Little folk will sew, and sow, their fate by their own hand
A lesson learned and harder earned
And take and take when dawn draws near their leave of the newest sovereign
Gladly giving up the gems that they could trade with no one
To bluest lakes they will flee
When sunlight hits the trees
And not recall another's sorrow, but carry joy for their tomorrow
And the world be happier for it
