Tomorrow

The front porch is lonely
As the June Bugs sing
Their sweet serenade.
The air is thick
With summer heat.
The sun is resting
Behind a thin layer of clouds,
Its outline barely shining through.
Nothing but calm.
And I can only hope
To greet the world with a smile
Tomorrow.

Darla, you have a wonderful depth of feeling and observation that shows itself ably in this and other poems. Keep writing!...BH
