Tommorow

I sat down to enjoy my early morning breakfast thinking very little of my eight children sleeping upstairs. I heard that all familiar ring of the alarm clock then I heard a tiny parade of footsteps coming down the stairs- the end of my morning peace. Everyone needs breakfast my husband needs a kiss and for me to straighten his tie the baby needs to be burped and the dog needs to be fed. so many things to do to prepare the children for school so many things to do even when there gone. It's just me at the house now by myself the loneliest time of the day. I clean a little here and make a few calls, inquiring about over due bills . My friend Marys caught the flu and my boss wants me to come to work again on a Sunday for goodness sakes. what's a girl to do? It's the most chaotic time of the day. The children have returned and my husband will follow. My daughters chatting away about all the plans she's made. The youngest needs help with his homework. Is that a baby I hear crying again? The eldest is outside with his friends. My middle child is pouting because she can't have any sweets Now dinners almost ready and in less than an hour everyone will be off to bed. I made dinner taco salad and chili beans. "Eat everybody!" I say. "Enjoy it please." finally we're off to bed. Kids are washing their faces and brushing teeth. We will do it all over again far removed from sorrow. We will treasure the joy joy that we anticipate tomorrow.
