Toll

Toll
by Sandi Hoot

When trouble stares me down or leads me too low
When the battle seems endless and out of control
When memories are fading
a bitter taste in my soul
When tears keep falling constantly paying my toll
Life’s moments flash from the start
Yet my existence is in your arms
Your loving light saved my heart
