Toll

I pay the money in the toll booth so I can reach manhattan
This act takes a toll on my wallet
I turn on the T.V Mid September 2001
Seeing air planes flying into a buildings
Took a toll on my hope
Back to the future now Iraq solders dying now
Bombing lil kids just for that oil
         Economy falling lower
Thus my respect for bush is down to zero
It's taking a toll knowing that my vote won't
                 Erase the pain he's caused
Were his toy solders marching just for him
Dying, lying in dirt, crying just for him
It's taking a toll on the families
Who visit the cemetery and see numerous flags
                       Their son wasn't unique
He died in a heap just like the rest
                          Just puddy in Bush's hands
It's taking a toll on my conscience
They say if you watch evil being done
                               Your just as bad
But am I suppose to feel bad
Cause I can't impeach him as president?
All this hatred is taking it's toll
Teaching New York city kids to loath
I wish it all could go
                             Twinkling stars above
I refer to nursery rhymes as I pray
Cause I fear the next toll will deplete our souls
                                  I'm afraid...
