Today She Got Some Money

“TODAY SHE GOT SOME MONEY”

here it is again,
another day before
another visit with
her kid’s dad.
“Tonight, I’m shaving
my kitty Eddie. I’ll
show you I’m over you,”
she said.
“Oh how convenient,
the night before you
take off,” I laugh.
“Think what you want,
I don’t care, you can
think I’m gonna have
sex, I don’t care!”
she proclaims.
the confidence in her
walk is fraudulent and
emotionally weak.
male attention:
her greatest addiction.
she’s denied it but I’ve
known her long enough.
ask her and she’ll
tell you it’s a lie.

tonight,
she showers,
tonight,
she shaves,
tonight,
the polish on her toes
is freshly applied.
tomorrow morning,
her best clothes go on
and she’ll be off for
another fun filled day
of attention at the cost
of her child.
she’s dressed to impress
and just last night she
wanted me to know her
kitty was shaved.
I’ve told her she’s got
attention issues but
what do I know?
I guess it really must
be all in my head.
