Today Is Not Like Yesterday

clouds have rolled in intrusively
washed out my memory sky,
where blue birds used to blend
makes me wonder why

shadows disguise what use to be
lifes true colors that intrigue,
without such visions of yesterday
my spirits mellowed with fatigue

what was once is now gone
only from my sight but not mind
I had laid the image for recreation
if all was lost I would be able to find

all precious memories need preservation
I did not forestall with a chance to loose
tomorrow may bring more clouds
but today I must choose

shadows laid upon the ground
is that what life has left to offer
making changes with a positive attitude
my strengths can improvise and foster

today is not like yesterday
but I have made it so real
coping pillars will support and amend
thus today will not be surreal
