Today Is a New Day
I love the smell of your perfume.
Whenever you enter the room.
You sing a song like an angel
The one who god misses most.
You have fallen from heaven.
Into my arms.
And if you had to go back to heaven.
The Earth would be so Barren.
You make the flowers grow.
You make the rain fall.
And I know you love me most of all.
You wear your dress of white.
Which when you walk among mere mortals
Brightens up the darkest nights.
I touch your face. I kiss your lips.
To be in your presence is a privilege.
The tears I cry are tears of joy.
My heart misses a beat when I feel you near me.
You always say to me I am your boy.
I hope forever it will always be.
To lose you would be wrong
The years forever would be long.
The day you left was the worst of my life.
God took you back before I could make you my wife.
Although I am old and grey. I think of you often.
And I know in my heart there is a place by your side.
You promised me that we would be together forever in Heaven.
And I wait with bated breath for when we begin anew.
Every emotion every tear on meeting back up with you.
