Today Forever
It is always today
tomorrow but a promise, yesterday but a dream
I awake into today
I fall asleep within today
tomorrow eludes away away
Everyday I live in today
and wish for tomorrow
For tomorrow is perfect
when all is new, everything is best
even bacon frying smells better
and hot black coffee brews itself sweet
Everyday I miss yesterday
Yesterday fades with time and enhances
warm and fuzzy things that made you smile
laugh a lot and cry a little
seems so long ago as if a dream
Today is every day
the long and short of it
no matter how long I wait
I cannot escape it
for I always awaken into Today.
