Today is the day
I feared yesterday
Cause I knew how I would feel
Today is the day
I've dreaded
Oh, so long
Cause pain has brought me
to a kneel
The sun may rise for others
For me it still is dark
The agony I wrest with
My future looks so stark
Today is the day
I knew would come
Since I was a little child
Today is the day
I cry out loud
My fear is running wild
I spin like a whirlwind
Dust-devil of pure, pure pain
I sob for my dear mother
Oh, but to see again!
Today is the day
I hope will end
As soon as it may be
Today is the day
To hold me once again
For no longer will you see
This broken down wreck
of a human being
Who dwells deep in the past
Today is the day
I pray to God,
That it may be my last."
