Today
Today, just we, just you and me
no others on this earth to see
did feel and breathe and taste and know
each here and there of each of us
and so
we did become that simplest most unplumbed of sums.
One
plus one
makes one.
And though,
our unity's far greater than the gathering of our parts,
we have just begun.
