Today

The sun is bright
the sky is blue
the grass is fully green,
it's just another Wednesday
like others I have seen,
and yet I cannot help but say
with a sad and deep regret
although the day is sunny
we are very much beset
by howling wind
from a sea which brings
a restless icy chill
alongside all the snowdrops
and the blooming daffodils,
it hardly seems like winter
but it clearly isn’t spring
I know it isn’t summer
It must be some other thing
