The Whiskey Taster’s Flavor Guide

Toast of the Town

Amidst ¦¦¦ flowers ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ wine,

I pour alone ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦

¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ I invite the Moon,

¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦

¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ Moon does not ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ drink,

My shadow ¦¦¦¦¦¦ follows the movement of my body.

¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ shadow ¦¦¦ keep me company a while,

The practice of mirth should keep pace with spring.

I start a song and ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦

¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ dance and the shadow moves grotesquely.

¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ let's rejoice with one another,

¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦

¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦¦

¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦¦ ¦¦¦ ¦¦¦¦ again far in the Milky Way.

Evelyn, the theme of finding companionship in nature and with oneself through the moon and shadow comes across beautifully. The imagery of sharing a drink with the moon is so lovely and adds a touch of whimsy.

This is a form I still have to get used to. Some words exhilarate me. Must start to drink wine now.❤️❤️

A striking blackout that preserves Li Bai’s moonlit solitude while giving it a wonderfully fragmented, visual texture. The scattered bars make absence part of the reading experience, and the surviving phrases—wine, moon, shadow, song, dance, spring—form a lyrical thread of companionship and fleeting joy.
