To Whom Shall We Worship

Despite unrelenting love, life eternal, we, a nation, stray away.
We choose to keep our sinful burdens, hide our guilty face.
God should be our focus - through darkest night till breaking of day.

We try alone, in vain, to keep our demons at bay.
We struggle to follow the world’s stresses and inhuman pace.
Despite unrelenting love, life eternal, we, a nation, stray away.

We seek fortune, riches, gratification, all with no delay.
Our hearts remain hollow, empty, when darkness we embrace.
God should be our focus - through darkest night till breaking of day.

Mental health, depression, climate change are rampant today.
Yet we self medicate, try to eradicate, without seeking God’s grace.
Despite unrelenting love, life eternal, we, a nation, stray away.

When we wake, we try to tackle each day alone, forget to pray.
We are expectant, our roots shallow, quick to blame, our God we deface.
God should be our focus - through darkest night till breaking of day.

Today, more than ever, we should watch, wait, listen, love on display.
Live a life we are proud of, integral, honest, with God centre place.
Despite unrelenting love, life eternal, we, a nation, stray away.
God should be our focus - through darkest night till breaking of day.
